Hi there! I’m Jamie, an introverted writer mama who loves the countryside, writing, traveling, and reading.
I met my British husband Steve when I was sixteen years old and ventured overseas to volunteer with a humanitarian organization for the summer. When I came back home, I told my grandmother that I’d met the person I was going to marry.
Six years later, I did.
Here’s a pic of us when we first met:
Now, over twenty-five years later, our family looks like this:
Along the way, we added three children to our ranks: Jonathan (our biological son), Elijah (adopted from Liberia), and Trishna (adopted from India). With four nationalities represented in our family, we like to think of ourselves as a mini-United Nations.
Way back in 2008 I decided to write a book, and figured I better have “one of those blog-things” to go along with it. So I started writing about motherhood over at Steady Mom in 2009.
I had no idea at the time that I was stumbling upon something that would add so much joy and so many opportunities to my life. A year later I co-founded the site SimpleHomeschool.net, where I’ve served as editor-in-chief for nearly a decade. And in 2020 I embarked on a new adventure at IntrovertedMoms.com.
My books include Introverted Mom (an ECPA bestseller), Give Your Child the World (reached #9 on Amazon’s Top 100 Best Sellers list), Steady Days and more. You can find all of them right here!
My work has been featured by LeVar Burton of Reading Rainbow, the Washington Post, Parents, Today Parenting, and Psychology Today.
I love that I get to spend my days with my children (well, most of the time!), while also writing and working from home–what a gift. And I love meeting and interacting with my readers–thank you for your support!
Want to find me elsewhere? I also spend a little time hanging out on Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest, and Twitter.
You can also reach me by email: jamiecmartin(at)infusedcomms(dot)com – please know that I love, love, love hearing from you, but I’m not always able to respond to every email.
Thanks so much for visiting!
